About Marc

Marc founded Kestenberg Litigation in 2023. He started his career at Shearman & Sterling, a large US law firm and then worked at two mid-sized Toronto firms, Goodman and Carr and Ogilvy Renault before becoming a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright.  In 2015, he joined the partnership at Kestenberg Siegal Lipkus.

Marc’s diverse practice experience is an asset to his diverse group of clients – ranging from large publicly traded companies to small family owned businesses – and everything in between.

Marc advises and acts for clients on all manner of corporate and commercial litigation, including contract disputes, partnership disputes, shareholder disputes, real estate disputes, franchise disputes, employment disputes and administrative disputes.

Marc has a unique ability to analyze complicated situations, consider, simplify and clearly explain the strategic alternatives to his clients and recommend the approach that is most likely to result in the best outcome, whether that is proceeding to court or negotiating a resolution.

Marc is listed as preferred counsel for LawPRO, the insurance company that defends lawyers sued for professional negligence.

Marc is a frequent Skills Instructor at the Advocates Society’s training workshops.

On the philanthropic front, Marc has been an active member of the Hockey Helps the Homeless Bay Street Tournament raising money for Eva’s Initiatives – a charity that provides shelter, transitional housing, and health and well-being programming to help youth who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness in Toronto.  In 2019, Marc was awarded the “Game Changer Award” for his work.

In both 2022 and 2023, Marc was voted by his peers in Post City Magazine as one of Toronto’s top commercial litigators.
